All about horses summer break camp for kids is a great adventure into the world of horses. Come spend Monday thru Friday 8 AM til noon with us. Children, ages 6 and up, are invited to come and share a horse experience with us!
During your child's exciting week they will learn how to work safely around a horse. They will learn how to halter,lead and tie a horse. They will learn the different colors, breeds and markings of horses. They will learn the parts of a horse while they spend some hands on time learning how to groom a horse. They will learn how to saddle a horse.
Your child will also learn that horses require a lot of work. They will help clean (muck) out stalls, give fresh water, and help feed.
Your child will ride everyday. While they ride, safety will be very important. The instructors have over 26 years experience teaching riding lessons. Your child will learn how to sit and steer a horse properly on the first day. As the week progresses, your child will learn games on horseback, barrel racing, polebending,etc. These games will be ridden at a walk or a trot, never a gallop. On Friday, the children will participate in a gymkhana (a competition of games on horseback) and will win ribbons. |
